Anyone can give a great answer on Gun Ask. But some questions deserve a professional's eye. The Verified Expert badge marks members whose real-world credentials we've reviewed, so you can weigh their answers accordingly.

Who can be verified

We verify members who can document relevant professional experience, such as: certified firearms instructors, licensed FFL dealers, gunsmiths, current or former law enforcement, and military service members with relevant roles.

How verification works

You request the badge from your profile and submit proof of your credential — a license number, certification, or other documentation. Our team reviews it privately; we never publish your documents. Approved members get a badge on their profile and next to their answers.

What the badge does not mean

A Verified Expert badge confirms a credential — it is not an endorsement of every statement a member makes, and it is not legal advice. Always confirm safety and legal details with authoritative sources for your jurisdiction.
