My wife wants her own carry gun. She has smaller hands and is new to this. Where do we start?

Fit first, caliber second. Skip the tiny "she" guns people push — micro pistols actually recoil more and are harder to shoot well. A slim but shootable 9mm like a Glock 43X, SIG P365, or S&W Shield Plus fits smaller hands and is controllable. Best move: visit a range that rents and let her try several. The gun that fits her hand and that she enjoys shooting is the one she'll practice with.
