Is 10mm overkill for everyday carry?

I love the power of 10mm but is it too much for normal EDC? Or is it smarter to save it for the woods?

10mm shines as a woods/trail and hunting cartridge where you might face four-legged threats. For everyday self-defense against people, it's more recoil and muzzle blast than you need, in usually-larger guns with lower capacity. Nothing wrong with carrying it if you shoot it well, but most people are better served by 9mm for EDC and keeping the 10mm for hikes and hunting.
