Is reloading ammo worth it for a casual shooter?

I shoot a few hundred rounds a month, mostly 9mm. Would reloading actually save me money or is it a wash?

For only 9mm at a few hundred rounds a month, the savings are thin once you factor in the press, components, and your time — bulk 9mm is just too cheap. Reloading pays off most for expensive cartridges, precision rifle (tailored accuracy), and high-volume shooters. Plenty of people also reload for the hobby and control, not just cost. If you mainly want to save money on 9mm, buying bulk is simpler; if you want a craft and accuracy, reloading is rewarding — just follow published load data exactly.
