Is the Holosun 509T worth it over the 507C?

The 509T costs more than a 507C. Is the enclosed emitter actually worth it for a carry/duty pistol?

If the gun is for hard duty use or deep concealment, yes. The 509T fully encloses the emitter in a titanium housing, so lint, rain, and pocket debris cannot settle on the lens and dim the dot — the main weakness of open optics like the 507C. For a range or lighter-duty gun, the 507C is plenty and cheaper. For a do-or-die carry/duty pistol, the enclosed 509T (or the smaller EPS Carry) is the more reliable choice. Co-witness with backup irons either way.
