EOTech EXPS3

A holographic sight prized for its fast reticle and pairing with magnifiers on a fighting carbine.

The Rundown

The EOTech EXPS3 is a holographic weapon sight, a different technology from LED red dots. Its reticle — typically a 68 MOA ring around a 1 MOA dot — is exceptionally fast to pick up, and because the reticle is projected holographically you can still aim through a partially obscured or damaged window. It sits at a height that pairs naturally with a flip-to-side magnifier for a versatile close-and-medium-range setup.

Holographic sights draw more power than LED dots, so battery life is measured in hundreds of hours rather than years, and they carry a premium price. But for shooters who want the fastest possible reticle and a proven magnifier-ready platform on a serious carbine, the EOTech remains a top-tier choice.
