Holosun 507C X2

The value benchmark for pistol red dots — multi-reticle, shake-awake, and a battery that lasts years.

The Rundown

The Holosun 507C X2 is the optic that made pistol red dots mainstream. It hits the sweet spot of price, durability, and features: a selectable reticle (a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, or both), Shake Awake that powers down when idle and instantly wakes on movement, and a side-loading battery tray so you never have to re-zero to change cells. For most carry and range pistols cut in the common RMR footprint, it's the default recommendation.

It isn't the most rugged option on the market — dedicated duty users sometimes step up to a Trijicon RMR or an enclosed-emitter optic like Holosun's own 509T or EPS Carry for hard use. But for the overwhelming majority of concealed carriers and recreational shooters, the 507C delivers 90% of the performance at a fraction of the cost, which is why it's the most-recommended pistol dot in the community.
