Group Size & MOA Calculator
Turn a group measured at any distance into MOA and MIL — see how accurate your rifle really is.
How it works
Group size in inches doesn't tell you much until you account for distance — a 2-inch group at 100 yards and a 2-inch group at 300 yards are very different. This calculator converts the group you measured at a given distance into MOA (minute of angle) and MIL, the standard way shooters describe accuracy. A 1-MOA rifle is the benchmark many shooters chase.
Measure your group center-to-center (from the center of the two widest-spaced holes) for the most accurate number, or outside-to-outside and subtract one bullet diameter. Enter the group size and the distance you shot it, and the tool gives you MOA and MIL. Shoot at least 3-5 shots per group, and average a few groups, before judging a rifle or load — one group can lie.
Educational estimates only — always verify zero and data by shooting, and follow all safety rules.
